The rope can be replaced with any rope that works in the cleat and fits through the tube through the cockpit area. We use 4 mm nylon. Kevlar strengthened produces the best results. If there is a lot of friction in the systemit is often from sand and salt build up in this tube, flushing it through with fresh water can help.

To replace the wire first, remove the old wire by loosening the grub screw in the slider knob. Pull the skeg blade down and release the retaining screw on the wire. To replace the wire, fit one end of the wire into the skeg blade and tighten the retaining screw.

Equipment needed: Hand router, acetone, adequate safety equipment, 40 grit sandpaper, marker pen, masking tape, tape measure, kayak stands, cloths.

• Remove all accessories (backrest etc.), also remove foam blocks that are behind stem of seat

To fit the footrests in a boat, first work out where you want to fit them. On the outside of the boat, mark where you want the closest bolt to go through the hull. Place a bit of masking tape over the spot to steady the drill and using the correct bit size for the bolt drill through.

Quantities: Keel strip for a 17 ft 6 inch kayak: 500 grams of gel with 5% pigment, 5% styrene wax. Add the same volume of glass bubbles with 6 cc of catalyst.

• A 2 inch (50 mm) diolen tape should be used
• Stick a two inch (50mm) masking tape strip along the length of the keel. With a one inch strip either side of the two inch tape

As standard this seat comes set in the middle position and can be set 12 mm (½″) forward or backward by the paddler depending on their needs. On either side of the seat there are two bolts. If these are taken out the seat can be moved forward or backward. Replace the bolts once adjusted.

The foam seats can be easily retro fitted. Once the seat position has been confirmed, then contact adhesive should be used to secure the seat.

Standard kayak

A standard kayak is fitted with a High performance seat, except Romany LV that comes with a foam seat. Should you want the small size seat please let us know upon ordering.

The standard kayak also comes with a back rest, footrests, all recessed deck fittings, deck lines and a wire skeg. A rope skeg can be fitted instead for no additional costs if requested.

The standard kayaks are available in yellow, orange, red, blue, quill, white and bright green.

Custom kayak

Colours

If you would like a custom colour you can get a rough indication of how your colour scheme will look like by using the colour chooser.

When you have decided the colours from the colour chooser, please select the RAL colour.

As monitors may show colours differently, especially darker shades, you may want to check your choice on a printed RAL chart. Please contact your shop.

Bulkhead

When ordering a custom bulkhead, please provide the measurement from the front edge of the keyhole cockpit to the front bulkhead.

The bulkhead will be fitted vertically unless otherwise stated upon ordering. Please note that the bulkhead is fibre glassed on one side only.

Foot pump

When ordering a foot pump we will add 4 inches (10 cm) onto the inside leg measurements you supply.

Deck pumps

If a deck pump (hand operated) is needed, then we need to fit a recess for the pump at the time of construction.

Skegs

The custom kayaks can be fitted with a hydraulic skeg or a hydraulic skeg-rudder. Of course they can also be fitted with the standard kayak's wire or rope skeg.
